Congressman Tom Emmer is on a tour with the Southwest Corridor Transportation Coalition to view the two-lane gaps on US Highway 212 that are causing safety and mobility problems and to talk with local business owners and local government officials about the need to improve this highway. The Coalition and Carver County are seeking federal funds to expand the highway to 4 lanes between Carver and Cologne and between Cologne and Norwood Young America. Senator Scott Newman, Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee is also joining the tour along with local legislators, county commissioners and city officials who represent areas all along the corridor.
